The Wick Hill Cup Trial was introduced in the 1970s’ as a pukka Open to Centre Trial held at a great venue but focusing on Intermediate, Novice and Beginner riders.
Pictured is Wobblie Will riding in the Wick Hill Cup at Wick Hill in the late 70s’, showing the spirit of the Wick Hill Cup.
Note the fair weather riding kit including the obligatory NCB wellies. Photo by Keith Davies’s dad.
This is how the Wick Hill Cup started back in the seventies - a proper trial for novices.

Held at The Beeches on Noar Hill for the first time the Wick Hill Cup took over the Geoff Monk Classic’s slot on this amazing venue. Set out during showers the day dawned bright and balmy leading to a wonderful days sport for riders and officials.

Many thanks to Terry Owens (secretary), Mick Coles (Clerk), Jim Daffin (Posters) and the observers (listed below). Go to Scores.

1. Just a quick note to say thanks for a super trial yesterday. Not to tight and twisty but nice and open. Quick results as well. I hope to ride some other Alton trials next year if not sooner and give the 'B' route a go.
